Caledonia

Welcome to Caledonia, a small and friendly community in Haldimand County. The location along the beautiful Grand River provides picturesque beauty and non-stop adventure all four seasons of the year. What started out as a small strip of land between Seneca and Oneida Villages has now turned into a vibrant and thriving small town, full of natural wonders and a unique array of shops and restaurants. Close proximity to nearby cities such as Hamilton and Brantford only add to the modern and convenient lifestyle Caledonia residents enjoy today.

LIVING IN CALEDONIA

If you’ve ever wanted to live in a stunning natural environment with the perfect blend of scenery and urban convenience, Caledonia just might be calling your name. The location on the banks of the Grand River means a world of outdoor fun for your whole family! Recreational activities include swimming, water skiing, boating, and fishing off the dock.

Caledonia is also noted for its beautiful walking and hiking trails, such as the Rotary Riverside Trail, the Gypsum Mine Tract Trailhead, and the Chippewa Trail. Kinsmen Park also offers a playground, pool, splash pad, and tennis courts where friends and families can gather and play together.

Caledonia offers no shortage of indoor fun and modern conveniences, either. The local Business Improvement Area features a thriving shopping and entertainment district, along with numerous eateries ranging from fast food and french fry wagons to cozy breakfast nooks and family restaurants.

You’ll find everything you need at local independent shops, such as A Day in My Closet, Baby Barn Boutique, Shavers Flowers, and much more. Then there’s also the fantastic Caledonia Farmers Market, which brings you some of the best and freshest produce, meats, and baked goods in the region. It’s open every Thursday from 2 to 7 pm, though vendors will set up shop in the Riverside Exhibition Centre during inclement weather.

A few of our favourite dining hot spots include The Argyle Street Grill and The Real Hammer Hogs BBQ. If you’ve got a taste for gourmet burgers, the famous Burger Barn is located nearby. You may want to make reservations as the word is out about this local gem.

Caledonia really does have it all, and Brantford and Hamilton are a short drive away whenever you want to expand your options. If you’re in the mood for a day trip, Niagara Falls is only one hour away, and you could venture to Toronto in approximately an hour and a half. Every day is a new adventure in this charming and picturesque town.
